“UK Broadband Report: Plusnet Tops, Virgin Media Improves Satisfaction”

Ofcom’s latest report reveals varying performance levels among major UK broadband providers. TalkTalk, Vodafone, and EE ranked lowest in customer complaints, while Plusnet emerged as the provider with the fewest grievances, despite being under the same BT umbrella as EE. Sky and Virgin Media also demonstrated strong performance in customer satisfaction, with Virgin Media notably improving its standing from the previous year.

The complaint data per 100,000 subscribers highlights that Plusnet had only 4 complaints, followed by Sky with 6 and Virgin Media with 7. In contrast, BT, Vodafone, and EE each received 10 complaints per 100,000 users, while TalkTalk registered 8 complaints.

In addition to broadband services, Ofcom also monitors complaints regarding landline and pay-TV services. Utility Warehouse led in the landline category with only 1 complaint per 100,000 subscribers. TalkTalk, unfortunately, ranked lowest with 8 complaints. However, TalkTalk excelled in TV services with only 2 complaints per 100,000 users, outperforming Sky, Virgin Media, and EE.

While complaint levels have remained relatively stable compared to the previous quarter, industry expert Ernest Doku noted a growing impatience among consumers for subpar service. He emphasized the importance of value for money, urging customers to explore alternative providers if their current services do not meet expectations.

As the industry faces scrutiny over service quality and rising costs, consumers are advised to review their options and seek better deals to ensure they receive satisfactory services.
