Miraculous Outcome: Woman Hit by Car with Stroller

Authorities have made a pressing appeal following a car striking a woman walking with a stroller after veering onto the sidewalk. The incident occurred around 4:30 pm today on the R617 road between Blarney and Tower in Ireland. The woman, in her thirties, and the infant were swiftly taken to a hospital in Cork. Fortunately, the woman’s injuries are not life-threatening, and the baby emerged unscathed, leading to what a local fire brigade member described as a ‘miraculous’ outcome.

Individuals who witnessed the accident or were passing through the area and might possess dashcam footage are encouraged to contact emergency services.

A spokesperson from the Garda stated, “Authorities and emergency personnel responded to a report of a car colliding with two pedestrians at Blarney, Co. Cork, this afternoon, Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at approximately 4:30 pm.”

“The pedestrians, a woman in her thirties, and a male infant, were taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.”

“No additional injuries were reported, and the scene was secured for technical examination. The road has since been reopened. Authorities are seeking witnesses, including those who were in the vicinity and may have recordings from dashcams or other devices.”

Local councilor Damian Boylan expressed his sympathy for the victim and praised the efforts of the Gardaí and emergency services during this incident.

Boylan commented, “This was a tragically unfortunate event; the silver lining is that no lives were lost, but it must have been a truly terrifying ordeal. My thoughts are with the woman and her family.”

“I am confident that the Gardaí are conducting a thorough investigation into the details surrounding the incident.”
