Some Sky subscribers are facing an annoying bug affecting the widely used ITVX application. The glitch appears to have emerged recently, with users reporting disruptions in their viewing experience as the app randomly fast-forwards to the end of shows. Viewers have expressed frustration as they find themselves abruptly at the credits section without using the remote’s fast-forward feature.
Voicing their concerns on Sky’s forum page, a user named Dazzasky mentioned, “ITV Player keeps skipping ahead, typically to the end of the episode, which is quite problematic… this has been occurring for the past few days.” Another user, Dawn, also shared their experience, stating, “Anyone else encountering problems while watching ITVX shows? I’m watching, then suddenly it jumps to the end, marking the episode as watched; this usually happens at the start or after an ad break.”
The issue seems to impact users utilizing Sky’s online devices such as Sky Stream boxes and Glass TVs. While it remains uncertain if Sky Q is also affected, the complaints predominantly come from individuals using broadband-powered devices rather than satellite dishes.
Although the root cause of the issue is unknown, a Sky representative named Kev has acknowledged the concerns and assured users that the company is actively addressing the problem. Kev mentioned in a post, “We acknowledge the issue and have escalated it to our support teams who will collaborate with ITV to resolve the matter. We will provide updates as soon as we have more information.”
For now, users may have to endure the skipping problem, but a solution is hopefully in progress. Mirror Online will provide updates as new information becomes available.
