“Doctor’s Poison Scheme Unveiled: Father of Four Falls Victim”

The second victim of a poison scheme orchestrated by GP Thomas Kwan expressed his concerns for his children upon realizing he had ingested a toxic substance commonly used as rat poison.

Torquil Gundlach, a father of four, shared his ordeal of falling ill after consuming a bottle of vodka spiked with thallium, a highly toxic substance. Kwan, a once respected doctor, had targeted Torquil’s father-in-law by sending him poisoned alcohol from a fabricated ‘wine and drinks club.’

This sinister plan unfolded before Kwan disguised himself as a Covid nurse to administer a poisonous chemical to Torquil’s father-in-law, a move driven by disputes over inheritance issues.

Unknowingly, Patrick O’Hara, Torquil’s father-in-law, passed on a poisoned bottle of vodka to Torquil, leading to his illness. Kwan has admitted to attempting to murder Mr. O’Hara for the second time and administering the harmful substance to Torquil.

Recalling the incident, Torquil, a project manager of Scottish descent, described the experience as traumatic. He expressed empathy towards Kwan despite the chaos he caused, highlighting the potential danger to his family members who could have unknowingly consumed the contaminated alcohol.

Torquil’s background in biochemistry prompted him to research thallium, revealing the gravity of the situation. Counseling was sought to cope with the psychological impact of the harrowing event.

Details surrounding the fabricated ‘Northern Wine and Drinks Tasting Gentlemen’s Club’ were unveiled during Kwan’s trial. Torquil, a father of four, noted the lingering presence of the tainted vodka gifted by Mr. O’Hara.

Reflecting on the incident, Torquil emphasized the concern for his family’s well-being, particularly after learning about the toxic substance. Although reassured of his health, ongoing monitoring was required for Patrick due to a higher dosage exposure.

Kwan’s elaborate plan, involving a failed attempt with alcohol followed by the Covid jab scheme, was uncovered during the trial, shedding light on the deceitful wine club facade.

Kwan’s affluent lifestyle and potential financial gains from inheritances were revealed, showcasing his motivations behind the treacherous acts. The sentencing for his schemes is set for January 30 at Newcastle Crown Court, adding to his existing prison term for the attempted murder.
