Tatiana Schlossberg, Granddaughter of JFK, Reveals Terminal Blood Cancer

Tatiana Schlossberg, the granddaughter of John F Kennedy, has recently disclosed that she has been diagnosed with terminal blood cancer and has less than a year to live. At 35 years old, the environmental journalist revealed that she was diagnosed with myeloid leukemia shortly after giving birth to her daughter last year.

In an article for the New Yorker magazine, on the anniversary of JFK’s assassination, Tatiana shared that she received the diagnosis in May 2024 when her doctor noticed abnormal white blood cell counts during her hospital visit. Despite considering herself one of the healthiest individuals, she had no prior symptoms of illness.

Tatiana, the daughter of former US ambassador Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg, expressed her distress at not being able to care for her daughter due to infection risks post-transplants. Despite undergoing two bone-marrow transplants, chemotherapy, and blood transfusions, she was informed that the rare mutation Inversion 3 could not be treated with standard methods.

Joining a clinical trial for CAR-T-cell therapy earlier this year, Tatiana had hoped for a positive outcome. However, she has been given a devastating prognosis of less than a year to live. Reflecting on the impact this news has had on her family, she expressed guilt for adding another tragedy to her mother’s life.

The Kennedy family has long been associated with misfortunes and tragedies, leading to speculation about a so-called “Kennedy Curse.” From the assassination of John F Kennedy in 1963 to the deaths of Robert Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and John F Kennedy Jr in subsequent years, the family has endured numerous tragedies.

Tatiana also criticized her second cousin, RFK Jr, for his views on cancer funding and vaccines, describing him as an embarrassment to the family. She highlighted the importance of medical research and expressed concern over the potential consequences of reduced funding in crucial areas such as leukemia and bone-marrow research.

The tragic history of the Kennedy family, including the untimely deaths and personal struggles they have faced, continues to captivate public attention. Despite the challenges they have endured, the family’s legacy remains intertwined with both triumphs and tragedies.
