“Darts Star Luke Littler Challenged for Top Player Title”

Gary Anderson has expressed his opinion that Luke Littler may not be the top player globally, despite his outstanding achievements in recent years. Littler made a significant impact on the darts scene during the 2024 Darts World Championships, where he reached the final on his debut.

Since then, Littler has continued to dominate the sport by winning prestigious titles such as the UK Open, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, and the Premier League. However, despite his success, he currently holds the second position in the world rankings, trailing behind Luke Humphries, who has amassed a total of £1,769,000 in prize money over the past year, slightly ahead of Littler’s £1,697,000.

When asked about his views on the best player in the world, Gary Anderson straightforwardly pointed to Luke Humphries as the top contender. Anderson also acknowledged Michael van Gerwen as the best player in Europe outside of the UK.

While Littler aims to claim the number one spot globally, he remains focused on his game and determined to keep pushing forward. Looking ahead to the upcoming world championships at Alexandra Palace starting on December 15, Littler is gearing up for the competition after making appearances in the last two finals.

As the tournament draws near, final qualifiers are set to be confirmed on November 24, with the official draw expected shortly after. With high stakes and fierce competition, Littler remains optimistic about his chances of securing the top rank before the World Championship commences.
