A golfer from Saskatchewan achieved his first hole-in-one while competing at the National Special Olympics. Taylor Carter, a resident of Regina, has been part of the Special Olympics team since 2013 and has been playing golf since the age of four. The memorable moment occurred at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club during the recent competition.
Taylor expressed his disbelief and emotional response to the achievement, stating that watching the video of the shot brings tears to his eyes every time. His nephew, Ashton Carter, served as his caddy during the tournament, and they chose a nine-iron for the 135-yard 16th hole. The moment was confirmed when Taylor’s brother, who was nearby, called out the words “hole-in-one,” causing their family to erupt with excitement.

Despite experiencing a spike in his heart rate due to the excitement, Taylor remained focused to complete the round successfully. He finished the three-day tournament with a total score of 162, securing the gold medal in his division by a margin of two strokes.
