According to The Wall Street Journal, inmates were restricted to their living quarters during one incident in August while Maxwell conducted meetings in the camp’s chapel, with the lockdown attributed to the importance of her visitors.
Maxwell reportedly expressed confusion to fellow prisoners about the reason for her transfer, although her attorney stated it was done for her safety. Prior to the move, she met twice with the US deputy attorney general amidst escalating scrutiny of the Epstein scandal. During these discussions, Maxwell denied witnessing any inappropriate behavior by President Trump during his interactions with Epstein.
Recent scrutiny of Trump’s association with Epstein has intensified following the disclosure of a controversial letter he wrote to Epstein in 2003.
