An 18-year-old individual has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges following the tragic incident where a 25-year-old woman fell to her death from a residential building in Southampton. The woman, Tia Langdon, sustained severe injuries and passed away the following day despite being airlifted to the hospital. The accused, Jaiden Hassan-Agard, appeared in court in connection with the incident, which occurred on August 28.
Authorities mentioned that another woman was present at the location at the time of Tia’s demise. During a court appearance at Southampton Crown Court, Hassan-Agard denied nine charges, including manslaughter, false imprisonment, physical harm, wielding an offensive weapon, and issuing threats to kill Tia.
The accused, a resident of Southampton, also refuted additional allegations of false imprisonment, brandishing an offensive weapon, issuing threats to kill, and kidnapping the second woman. The prosecutor highlighted the complexity of the case, stating that a trial would be necessary due to the substantial evidence involved.
Judge William Mousley KC indicated that a trial was scheduled to commence on April 7, with a preliminary case management hearing set for January 23. The defendant was remanded in custody until the next hearing date. Hampshire Constabulary disclosed that their investigative team was scrutinizing the circumstances surrounding Tia’s death and confirmed the presence of a man and a woman at the scene with the victim.
Following Tia’s demise, a Hampshire Police spokesperson mentioned that the family was receiving support from specialized officers, while the Major Crime Unit continued its inquiry into the incident.
