“Tiger Woods’ Golf Comeback Hopes Dashed by Surgery”

Tiger Woods’ hopes of making a golf comeback suffered a setback as he revealed undergoing additional surgery following his 2021 car crash. The 15-time major champion has participated in only 11 events since the incident. Once a dominant force in golf, holding the world No. 1 spot for 281 weeks, Woods has now slipped to No. 2001 due to his extended absence from competitive play.

His latest surgery, the seventh on his back, has dashed any immediate prospects of returning to the sport. The procedure involved replacing a collapsed disc in the L4/5 region, along with addressing other spinal issues. The surgery, performed by Dr. Sheeraz Qureshi in New York, was successful, but it is expected to sideline Woods for at least a year.

Woods’ recent medical challenges, including a ruptured Achilles tendon and multiple surgeries since 2023, have raised doubts about his future in golf. Despite his son, Charlie, following in his footsteps and showing promise in junior championships, Woods’ return to professional golf remains uncertain. With the road to recovery ahead, the golf legend faces a tough journey back to the fairways.
