“Kamala Harris Considers Presidential Run in Future”

Kamala Harris is contemplating a future presidential run, expressing that she still has unfinished business. The former Vice President, who faced defeat in the 2024 election against Donald Trump, revealed in an interview with the BBC her potential aspirations to one day become President, hinting at a forthcoming White House bid.

During her conversation with Laura Kuenssberg, Harris shared her confidence in the likelihood of a female president emerging during her grandnieces’ lifetimes. When questioned if she could be that president, Harris replied with a resolute “possibly.”

Asserting her continued dedication to public service, Harris emphasized her career trajectory and sense of duty. Despite being seen as an underdog by bookmakers in the race for the Democratic Presidential nomination, Harris leads the polls. National polling data places her 3.6 points ahead of her closest competitor, California Governor Gavin Newsom, with Pete Buttigieg, the former Transportation Secretary under President Biden, trailing in third place with only 9.6%.

Disregarding the significance of polls, Harris recalled her past experiences and decisions, highlighting her resilience and determination to pursue her goals. Criticizing Trump, Harris labeled him a “tyrant” and pointed out instances where his actions aligned with fascist tendencies, particularly citing his administration’s targeting of Jimmy Kimmel, a late-night TV host.

Expressing disapproval for business leaders who complied with Trump’s demands, Harris criticized those who supported the construction of Trump’s lavish ballroom. She accused them of seeking favor with power and avoiding scrutiny, rather than standing up against authoritarian tendencies.

The full interview with Kamala Harris will air on Sunday morning as part of Ms. Kuenssberg’s BBC One program.
