“Freeview Update: New Channels and Rebrands Require Prompt Retune”

If you are a Freeview user, it is recommended that you review your settings and promptly retune your device. Freeview, a popular TV platform in the UK, has initiated an update that introduces various modifications to the channel lineup and TV guide. According to Freeview, some broadcasters are implementing changes this week, necessitating a retune to ensure that channels and the TV guide remain current.

So, what alterations have been made?

There have been a total of four announced changes. Firstly, three existing channels have been rebranded with new names, which will now be visible in the TV guide.

Here is a breakdown of the changes:

– That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) has been renamed to That’s 20th Century, offering music from previous decades and featuring iconic shows such as Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint.
– That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) is now known as That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) has been simplified to That’s Classics.

Aside from the rebrands, there is also a new channel introduced called That’s Entertainment, which can be found on Channel 75. Although program listings for this service are not widely available yet, more details are anticipated soon.

Freeview mentions that these updates are part of the ongoing adjustments made by broadcasters to ensure diverse and up-to-date content.

If you are a Freeview user, you should observe these changes reflected in the TV planner. If the updates have not occurred, it may be necessary to retune your device by following these steps:

1. Press the menu button on your remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm your willingness to delete existing channels.
6. Your device will then automatically search for and save the updated channels.

While Freeview updates are regular occurrences, this recent update is particularly significant, so it is advisable to retune sooner rather than later.
