“Fatal Tenerife Hotel Fire Claims Life of Guest”

A tragic fire engulfed a holiday hotel in Tenerife, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old guest who fell from a third-floor balcony.

The incident occurred at the four-star Melia Costa Atlantis Hotel in Puerto de la Cruz, where approximately 490 guests, including several Britons, were evacuated as firefighters swiftly responded to the scene. The nationality of the deceased individual who fell from the balcony where the fire originated has not been disclosed.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, with initial reports suggesting that a mattress in the room may have ignited. Local emergency services confirmed the fatality and extinguishment of the fire early in the morning following the incident.

The hotel management has not issued any official statements on social media regarding the tragic event. Fortunately, the evacuated guests were unharmed and were able to return to their accommodations after the evacuation.

This incident follows a similar tragedy earlier this year, where a British teenager lost his life after falling from a hotel in Spain. The 19-year-old tourist passed away instantly in the fall at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel, located in the San Antonio resort area of Ibiza.
