Campbell Hatton Reflects on Father’s Legacy

Campbell Hatton recently shared his thoughts on the profound impact his late father, Ricky, had on his life, as the cause of Ricky’s death has been provisionally confirmed. In an interview on Good Morning Britain, Campbell, 24, reflected on the whirlwind of recent weeks, leading up to his father’s funeral. He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love shown by thousands of people who gathered to pay tribute to Ricky.

Reflecting on his father’s legacy, Campbell emphasized Ricky’s pride in his loyal fanbase over his boxing accolades. The outpouring of support during Ricky’s funeral procession, where streets were filled with mourners, was a surreal yet comforting experience for Campbell and his family.

Ricky was laid to rest on October 12 at Manchester Cathedral, with a procession passing significant landmarks in the city, including Hatton’s gym and the AO Arena. Following a private memorial service, an inquest led by Senior Coroner Alison Mutch revealed that Ricky was found ‘unresponsive’ at home, with the provisional cause of death listed as hanging.

Paul Speak, who discovered Ricky, expressed a desire for transparency regarding the circumstances surrounding Ricky’s passing. Speak recalled finding Ricky unresponsive at home and quickly contacting emergency services, believing Ricky did not intend harm. Speak highlighted Ricky’s positive outlook on life before his untimely death and dispelled speculations about his well-being.

Campbell, in a separate interview with ITV, shared his grief over losing his father, describing their close bond and the profound loss felt by his family. He fondly remembered Ricky as a loving father and expressed disbelief over the sudden turn of events.
