At least three individuals were swiftly taken to the hospital following a shooting incident at a shopping center during Black Friday sales, causing shoppers to seek shelter. The incident occurred at the Westfield Valley Fair Mall in San Jose, California, prompting a search for the perpetrator. Police disclosed that multiple individuals are currently receiving treatment for gunshot injuries.
The victims of the attack included a man, a woman, and a 16-year-old girl. The incident took place at 5:40 pm local time the previous day, as stated by Sergeant Jorge Garibay of the San Jose Police Department. Authorities have classified the event as an “isolated incident” and assured the public that there is no ongoing danger.
According to reports, the shooting transpired subsequent to a dispute between the suspected shooter and the male victim. Regrettably, the two female victims were caught in the crossfire, as per KRON4. An eyewitness, Shawn Kulasingham, 23, recounted hearing a loud noise followed by a chaotic scene of people. Kulasingham narrated seeking refuge with his family inside a secure store, Abercrombie & Fitch, and concealing themselves among clothing racks and cabinets as panic ensued. Store security at Bloomingdales directed approximately 20 customers into storage closets, including Bilal Zuberi and his wife, who shared details of the incident. While not directly hearing gunshots, they experienced widespread panic and were informed via announcements to stay put as the doors were secured.
