“Android Users Report Rapid Battery Drain After Update”

Some users of Android devices are experiencing a concerning issue where their phone batteries are draining rapidly even when the devices are not in use. This problem seems to have emerged following a recent software update. Complaints have flooded forums as Android users express frustration over the need to charge their phones multiple times a day to maintain battery life.

The battery bug appears to be affecting Google’s Pixel phone lineup, with reports indicating that the tech giant is aware of the issue and is working on a solution. Impacted devices include the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 7A models.

According to findings by 9to5Google, the battery drain issue is believed to be linked to excessive CPU wakeups, causing the phone to run continuously in the background even when idle. Users have shared their experiences, with one individual mentioning slow charging, rapid battery depletion, and overnight power loss on their Pixel 7A device.

Another Pixel owner highlighted experiencing battery drain on their Pixel 9 Pro XL since a specific update in March, requiring them to charge the phone three times daily. However, not all Pixel users are encountering this issue, as some have reported normal battery performance on their devices.

Google is expected to investigate the matter further and release an update to address the battery drain problem. Updates on the situation will be provided as new information becomes available.
