“Tesco Offers Free ‘Wonky’ Christmas Trees for One Day Only”

Tesco is generously distributing numerous free Christmas trees for a single day. These “wonky” Christmas trees, with minor imperfections like uneven branches or slight leaning, are not typically sold. However, Tesco will be offering them at no cost on Saturday, December 6, at selected stores. The supermarket encourages recipients to consider making a donation to the food charities Fareshare and Trussell.

The free trees will be available at various Tesco locations, including Colney Hatch Extra, Borehamwood Extra, Hammersmith, Southport Extra, Goole Superstore, Glossop Superstore, Bristol Brislington Extra, Cardiff Extra, Dundee Riverside Extra, and Glasgow Maryhill Extra. They will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10 am, limited to one tree per household. In comparison, the most affordable Christmas trees elsewhere are priced at £13.99 from Aldi and £14.99 from Home Bargains.

Ashwin Prasad, Tesco’s UK CEO, emphasized embracing the imperfect charm of these trees, noting that imperfections can add character to the holiday season. A recent survey commissioned by Tesco revealed that a significant portion of Brits value the imperfect moments of Christmas, with 87% agreeing that perfection is not necessary for a special holiday experience.

In other news, Tesco announced a promotional offer where Clubcard members earn two points for every £1 spent on gift cards throughout December. This promotion applies to all third-party gift cards purchased in Tesco stores, automatically crediting double points to the Clubcard account. Tesco’s Clubcard program, which boasts approximately 24 million members, offers various ways to earn points, including purchases at Tesco stores, Tesco Mobile, Tesco credit card spending, and using a Tesco Clubcard Pay+ debit card. Members can redeem Clubcard points for vouchers worth £1.50 for Tesco purchases.
