“Tragic Deaths in Turkey: Liposuction Surgeries Turn Fatal”

A female entrepreneur passed away following liposuction surgery in Turkey that left her in a coma. Milena Mancini, aged 50, died in the intensive care unit at Istanbul’s ISU Medical Park Gaziosmanpaşa hospital, 20 days after undergoing a weight loss procedure at a private clinic.

After traveling to Turkey with her daughter from Italy in September, Milena experienced severe abdominal pain about 36 hours post-operation. It was reported that a complication during the surgery led to a perforated intestine, causing an infection.

Milena’s uncle, Luigi Di Palma, revealed to Italian media that she developed an infection during the operation. Her family was unaware of the surgery until she was admitted to intensive care, prompting some of them to fly to Turkey to support her.

Unfortunately, Milena’s health deteriorated, and she remained in a coma for several days before her passing. A post-mortem examination is set to take place in Italy once her body is repatriated.

Hailing from Isola del Liri, a town southeast of Rome, Milena managed an estate agency after a career as a financial consultant. She recently expanded her business to a new branch in Frosinone before her tragic journey.

She is survived by her husband Umberto, daughters Alice and Juditta, father Alvaro, and sisters Rita and Sara. Luigi described her as a determined and capable woman who was warm, cheerful, and well-liked by everyone.

In a separate incident, a British woman, Ruby Khan, aged 30, died after liposuction and tummy tuck surgery in Turkey turned fatal. The surgery, conducted at Medical Point International Hospital in Izmir, initially went smoothly but took a tragic turn when Ruby’s heart rate surged during the procedure. Despite efforts to stabilize her, she passed away the next day. An official inquest is scheduled for October 30.
