“Power Struggle in Gaza: Hamas Clashes Escalate”

Hamas, a weakening organization, is being challenged internally by four powerful clans in Gaza. These clans are vying for control as a ceasefire is implemented after over two years of conflict. US President Donald Trump has threatened violent disarmament of Hamas and expects the surrender of weapons soon.

Hamas has deployed approximately 7,000 fighters to eliminate outlaws and collaborators from Gaza. The groups involved, such as the Popular Force, Doghmosh, Al-Majayda, and Hellis, are reportedly receiving support from Israel. Deadly clashes have erupted in Gaza, resulting in casualties, including the death of Saleh al-Jafarawi, a prominent Palestinian influencer.

Amidst the struggle for power, Hamas’ death squads have conducted public executions of alleged collaborators with Israel. The violence has escalated, with more casualties reported as tensions rise. The Palestinian Authority has condemned these acts and called for the restoration of legitimate leadership in Gaza.

Local families and armed groups have taken advantage of the power vacuum in Gaza, complicating the situation further. Some have been accused of exploiting humanitarian aid for personal gain, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.

Despite some hostages being returned, concerns persist that the fragile ceasefire could collapse. President Trump has reiterated his stance on Hamas’ disarmament, emphasizing a swift and potentially forceful approach. The peace agreement demands Hamas to disarm and release all hostages, requirements that have yet to be fulfilled.

Efforts to retrieve the remaining bodies of hostages are ongoing, with tensions remaining high in the region. The closure of the Rafah crossing and reduced aid deliveries are part of the pressure on Hamas to comply with the peace terms. The situation remains uncertain as Gaza attempts to navigate through the aftermath of prolonged conflict.
