On the other side, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar condemned the UK’s actions and retaliated by announcing the closure of the UK’s consulate in East Jerusalem, along with other countermeasures targeting UK officials and citizens.
Jewish leaders in Canada and Britain criticized the actions taken by the UK, Canada, France, and other European nations. They expressed concerns over potential security threats to the Jewish community amidst the unfolding events. The official Palestinian news agency welcomed the joint determination of the countries taking action against the Israeli settlements, asserting that the settlements were a clear violation of international law.
